This is not really an act of contrition on my part, but I’m definitely re-thinking my position on those folks calling themselves “Occupiers.” I’ve written several pieces on this gang of dopes and I believe right from day one, I referred to them as the biggest gathering of stupid people in recent history. Several months later, I referred to them as a dwindling and smaller gathering of stupid people who just don’t get it, but as I said, I’m re-thinking this. Maybe they do get it; they’re still stupid I’m quite sure, but maybe the “occupiers” do get it and it’s about time some of you one-percenters, from the President of the United States on down start to smarten up. Intelligent people…..Obama, Pelosi and dozens of others came to the defense of the occupiers from day one, saying they support the mantra of the stupid……I’m sorry……the occupiers and to this day, they STILL support these dirtbags. These low-lifes are not just occupiers, demonstrators, whatever anymore…..they’re anarchists….they are thugs…they are criminals who will rise to the next level unless we come down on them like stink on poop. I’m trying not to call them just “stupid” anymore but I must say, they’re probably not smart enough to be terrorists in the true sense of the word.
I can almost….yes almost understand… when someone’s opinion on a controversial issue evolves…….i.e. BHO on gay marriage. Years ago, when running for office in an ultra-liberal district he was in favor. A couple of years later when running for the U.S. Senate, in order to win…he was against it. Nobody else can get a “pass” on the subject….any change “you’re a flip-flopper.” But not BHO. The White House decided the prez didn’t flip-flop….”he’s evolving on the issue.” My favorite saying..”Shut The Front Door!”
The above issue doesn’t matter to anyone, other than the gay-agenda folks…maybe…but at the top of this page….that issue does matter and if the President of the United States can’t “evolve again” and muster the guts to denounce this anarchistic gang of unwashed thugs, he certainly doesn’t deserve to be known as “Commander-in-Chief.”

"Lies, Damned Lies, And Statistics"
From what I understand, a lot of people over years of history have used the above phrase and didn't attribute it to anyone. Mark Twain is perhaps best known for using "lies, damned lies, and statistics" back in the early 1900's and Twain gave attribution to Prime Minister Disraeli, even though no one can find any record that Disraeli ever used it. So here we are in the early 2000's and most Americans wouldn't know a "lie".....or a "damned lie" if it hit 'em in the butt, and even if you had some "statistics" to back up your "lie", it wouldn't matter because right now our society is thriving on it. Twain suggested there are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics but right here in 2012 there are more kinds of lies than we can count....in politics alone.
What got me started on this rant is a column this week from Thomas Sowell. His perspective piece is entitled "Big lies in politics" and man I haven't seen anything quite some timely in months. Check it out at

We've been listening to politicians lie for years, but the pace is building fast and furious right now between Obama and Romney and two men of seemingly good character will lie through their shiny white teeth like a kid caught with one hand in the cookie jar......."I was just getting a cookie for youuuu!"
Sowell's column says "the fact that so many successful politicians are such shameless liars....is not only a reflection on them, it is also a reflection on us. When people want the impossible, only liars can satisfy them, and only in the short run."
You're heard it said...."nothing is sacred anymore" and boy is that the truth; no lie there. It really makes you wonder why any self-respecting person would want to submit themselves to the kind of scrutiny required in the political arena, but we continue on. Is the unemployment rate going down? Yes! That's a "lie!" If the unemployment rate went down, does that mean more people are working? Yes! That's a "damned lie!" Well how did the rate go from 9.6 to 9.1 percent? That's a statistic which will be explained when the seasonal adjustments are made.

What Will The Slip-N-Fall Lawyers Do??
It’s almost comical in states such as Florida, to see the billboards and television ads from law firms looking for your business. There is always a certain amount from the medical side of things….lawyers anxious to sue doctors, hospitals or pharmaceuticals for treating you wrong, but the lawyer ads looking for the “slip-and-fall” and accident claims is laughable. Not terribly surprising I guess but I’m seeing more and more of this type of shake down in the Northeast as well. The law firm of Beatem & Cheatem is on your side. Have you been injured in a car accident? Don’t talk to anyone……certainly do not talk to any insurance adjusters, until you talk to us, Beatem & Cheatem. There are a couple of law firms I’ve seen who actually say…….”if you’ve been in an accident and you were not injured, call us. Many times the injuries do not show up right away and you should be protected. We’ll get what is rightfully yours!” There are others: “Were you involved in an accident involving a tractor-trailer rig? Call us, we specialize in taking down TT operators.”
There are so many examples of sleazy slip-n-fall lawyers doing billboard and TV ads, as I said earlier, it’s almost comical but hats off to the Governor of Florida who just signed legislation which has the legal community outraged. It’s rather complicated and I won’t even attempt to try to explain it, but it is a direct assault on the slip-n-fall guys. There will be massive changes in the Florida auto insurance law, designed to reduce the fraud and high cost of no-fault insurance. It’s the no fault coverage which pays the medical expenses of victims, (alleged victims and otherwise) regardless of fault, but that’s about to undergo serious changes. Just one example, if you at first claim no injury, you can’t decide two weeks later, on the advice of Beatem & Cheatem to develop a sore neck.
Governor Rick Scott says there is an “epidemic of auto insurance fraud in Florida” Acupuncture and massage therapy…no longer allowed on an auto insurance case….and it goes on and on. It all has to do with the PIP (personal injury protection) part of the system and the Governor says “PIP is a billion dollar fraud on the motorists of Florida.”
Will it change anything? Probably not. It’s just fun to pick on lawyers, but not my lawyer.

TGIF !! Yes !! and Again !!!
I’m still enjoying the retirement thing because for the most part……every day is Saturday….no work today. The reality is however, until my brain turns to total mush, one is aware of what day it is and somehow, the old TGIF still works for me.
We’re wrapping up the week on a bunch of high notes in our month of May lexicon; Let me see…..Joe (bfd) Biden tells BHO he’s sorry about bringing up the gay thing. You’ve got to be kidding me. Do think bfd Joe brought that up on his own…..and nobody in Barack’s office knew he was going to do it? Now look what you’ve done Joe. You forced BHO to turn a weak……I mean extremely weak social issue into a huge campaign issue. Wouldn’t you expect it to be hard-core conservatives, Southerners, Rednecks, whatever to be the ones ready to fight over the gay marriage issue? Nope…..never brought it up. Instead the most radically leftwing liberal in the history of the U.S. presidency decides to take a weak social issue, while the economy crumbles, and turn it into a giant campaign issue. Joe may think it’s a bfd and he’s now sorry……but I’m sorry…..this is lame.
And as if to get that one off the front page, the BHO attack dogs are picking on Mitt Romney for being a bully when he was in high school. This is total garbage….and again I say….this is lame.
Speaking of front page….how do you like the cover of Time magazine…a cougar Mom breastfeeding a 4-year old. Two problems with that one kids; first, a 4-year old? Nonsense. Second, front cover of an alleged news magazine? Give me a break. A bunch of years back, I actually witnessed a member of my extended family, sitting there with a 4-year old on her lap, while the child, yes the child…. proceeded to unbutton her blouse for a quick snack. Hey Mom, when the child can do that himself, it’s time to teach him how to open the refrig.
Then again, when the hottest reading material on the market today for women of child-bearing age is “Fifty Shades of Grey” it’s pretty clear where we’re headed. Even public libraries are choosing to ban that trash from their shelves.

Six Months More Of This? I Don't Think I Can Take It!!
Watching TV last evening and it suddenly dawned on me…..It’s almost as though it’s the final couple of weeks before election day and the two candidates are launching a full barrage. On ad after another on national TV……..Obama is bad for this country….but wait…Romney had a Swiss bank account. OMG….what are we going to do with only six months ’till election day? ;-) Six freekin’ months and the back-and-forth is obnoxious already.
The polls at this point don’t mean a whole lot. Oh there are certain things one can read into different aspects of the polling but for the most part, it’s only a snapshot of today…..taken in the Month of May, and a lot of kaka is going to fly between now and November so don’t bet the farm on anything right now. BHO has the advantage because he has the office….and with it the bully pulpit….but what he doesn’t have is a single thing……not one solitary positive thing he can throw out there as a reason to give him another four years. Yes I know….Osama is dead and GE is alive, but that ain’t gonna do it. “It’s the economy stupid.” And the guy with all the cards on that subject is Willard….I mean Mitt…..but Mitt is going to have to grow a couple of brass ones between now and November if he thinks he can really win this. I think he can and I think he will.
One more thing on BHO. I remember taking an awful thrashing a while back when I suggested in this space that Obama is surely a socialist….as obvious as the nose on your face. Try this one: The campaign theme for Obama’s reelection campaign is “FORWARD.” You’ll see that sign “FORWARD” everywhere he goes between now and election day. Google it. Check “FORWARD” in Wikipedia….. scroll down to its intention and connotation as it applies to politics and you will have a clear understanding of where Obama wants to bring us. Kadina is the Hebrew word for ”FORWARD” and “FORWARD” is a socialist democratic party in Greenland. It’s the generic name for all Socialist publications.

I Know Sports. Footballs Are Blown Up.
I don’t comment often on the world of sports, mostly because my psyche has never recovered from the day my friend and former colleague Gil Santos, the voice of the New England Patriots and undeniably the best play-by-play guy in the entire NFL said to me….”Gary, stick to the news, leave the sports to me, because you don’t know if a football is blown up or stuffed.” Gil was a bit harsh that way….not to mention he often referred to me as a “French Baboo.” I don’t even know what the hell that means, but Gil, I do know sports….footballs are blown up and Tiger Woods couldn’t hit a bull in the butt with a handful of corn. Think about it!
Next to people in Hollywood, and everything is second to Hollywood when it comes to being incredibly stupid, the world of sports is next. I love sports, played a lot of sports, now watch a lot of sports, but please don’t let ‘em talk. I understand why sports reporters have to talk to them, but God it’s gotta be painful. Theee most difficult? Baseball players. The most unintelligible? Basketball players, followed by or just ahead of football players. The easiest to talk with? Hockey players….eh? By the way Bruins…..you looked bad this year. Speak of looking bad….the N.Y. Yankees are in next-to-last place in AL East……followed by…..the Boston Red Sox…dead last. And from the best I can determine, it’s not because Tito left and it’s not because Valentine came in…..it’s because they’ve got a clubhouse full of prima donna’s who listen to nobody.
Sort of related to sports; Proof positive that people with money aren’t always that bright. Some anonymous knucklehead just paid $418,250 for the baseball that went between Bill Buckner’s knees in 1986. Holy crap! That’s topped only by the news this week that somebody paid $120,000,000 for that ugly painting called “The Scream” by Edvard Munch. Yes people with money aren’t always that bright.
This rant filed 7-hours before the Kentucky Derby…… #3 with Calvin Borel on his back wins.

UBL Still Dead...A Whole Year Now. Isn't BHO Wonderful?
Yes I’m sure you’ve heard……Osama Bin Laden was sent to the big Allah in the sky a year ago and everyone seems quite proud of that accomplishment, myself included. It was the efforts of some heroic Navy Seals who pulled it off…..and took Osama down, but it was in case you forgot, under the guidance and direction of the Commander-In-Chief…..BHO. In fact a few of the accounts I’ve heard in the past few days, one would think BHO single-handedly pulled this off. Yes he did it……and Allah, if not God only knows, a guy named Willard (those of us who know him call him Mitt) could never have done this. And if you want just two good reasons why BHO should be elected again as Commander-in-Chief….try this for a slogan: “UBL is dead…..GE is still alive” Thank you BHO and OMG I think I’m getting a little misty over this one. If you had any doubt this election campaign is going to get down-and-sleezy, those doubts are now gone. BHO from Chicago’s South side is not afraid to play dirty. He’s got some of the slipperyist people in the history of politics ready to do his bidding and the big hope of many is that Mitt learns to take the gloves off and go for it. The other thought is……since this is really Jimmy Carter’s second term, that’s all they’re allowed isn’t it?
Oh and not to change the subject so quickly….however…..I see the “great unwashed of America” came out again today to protest anything that came to mind. I guess it was a celebration of May Day in various cities across the country and leave it to the occutards, I mean occupiers, to demand two things: “Don’t go to work today….and don’t buy anything that will feed the capitalist system.” Easy for them right? They don’t have jobs anyway and with no job, they got no money either…so perfect….from what I witnessed on various television reports today, this dwindling group of incredibly stupid people, should at least borrow a couple of bucks from Dad and maybe buy some soap, shampoo and deodorant.
